One million people to date have contacted AT&T, Cingular’s parent company, asking about the iPhone, said AT&T’s Chief Operating Officer Randall Stephenson today.

Stephenson (pictured below at CTIA) said many of the inquiries were people asking if they could pre-order the iPhone.

Although Cingular isn’t taking advance orders for the iPhone, you can sign up on their website to be alerted when the phone becomes available.

If one million people have already called asking about the iPhone, I have a feeling Apple is going to have no problem selling 10 million phones by the end of this year
