I fly aircraft for Lockheed Martin doing test flights. One particular event when I was flying the experimental F-35 we were using a prototype fuel grade and miscalculated the distance. Needless to say when I ejected the plane crashed to the ground in a fiery explosion. Helpless I watched as I dangled from my parachute as the 35 million dollar aircraft melted. By the time I had floated to the ground the fire had went out, ( there was no gas left) I walked over to the crash site and heard to my amazement fergie and the black eyed peas, my ring-tone for when work calls. My Samsung R450 from metro PCS was still intact and only a few feet from the smoldering jet engine of the aircraft! Now it even works when I am roaming, I think this phone has a guardian angel...

Yeah right. This Mike guy must have been after some cash. I quote, <i>"..and just decided I’d have to start using the Treo 750 I had as a backup..."</i> in the beginning of his lie and then he finishes the lie with, <i>"...I’ve always been a Blackberry owner..."</i> I wonder what the dude was after?????

Today I was on my balcony and was bending over to pick up a part of my BBQ, and my 1st gen iPhone slipped out of my shirt pocket, it fell on to the balcony and bounced over the edge on to the asphalt just over 9 feet below, I was mortified that I would have to purchase a new phone, but much to my surprise I found that the only damage was a small dent on the corner with the silence switch, I just pressed lightly on the edge where the case had bowed out a bit. the switch works perfectly, all is good with the phone. The phone didn't even turn off, I am very happy with the construction of this phone, Thank you Apple for good construction of your product.

My phone has survived much of the same treachery, minus the semi truck. I purchased mine around the time of the release date as did Mike. I can confidently drop mine from head level onto a granite floor and fear no such breakage Allison & Chris. Bad luck on your parts i suppose. Maybe something is different within the manufacturing aspect.?

If they're so durable how come mine vibrated off my night stand, fell onto hard wood floor (1 - 2 foot drop) and the whole screen shattered? When I tried to use it chards of glass got in my finters.
