Apple “is wrestling with” the idea of allowing third-party software on the iPhone, according to Steve Jobs at an Apple shareholders meeting in Cupertino yesterday. I’m on vacation now, so more on this later. Ciao from Italy!

this would be a big plus amongst apple lovers, and allow for a ton of free apps

That is so awesome if true. I have always thought that it would be a great hindrance to the phone if there were no 3rd party apps. Great work uncovering this!
